One year ago today was the best day of my life! I married the man of my dreams and became a wife, a role that I had dreamed about for so many years. Marriage is everything I had hoped for and more. Every single day I get to wake up next to my best friend and each evening we spend together I am reminded of just how much the Lord has blessed us.
In many ways it seems like the wedding was only a few months ago. I still grin when I refer to my "husband" and it makes me giddy to be called a "wife." In other ways, it seems as though we have been together a lifetime. We have shared many an adventure and have overcome obstacles along the way. Our journey has been incredible and I am humbled to realize that we have an entire lifetime ahead of us. I can't think of a better partner in crime.
We celebrated our first anniversary by spending the weekend in Boston. We had an incredible time and I can't wait to share more about the trip. Once we returned home, we had a home cooked meal of crabcakes with rosemary potatoes and green beans, one of the first meals I ever prepared for Jarrett. True to tradition, we thawed out the top tear of our wedding cake, served each other a bite, and toasted to the blissful years of marriage ahead.
