Sweet Summertime

Williamsburg sure does make for a wonderful weekend getaway!! Although our visit was brief, we managed to pack in lots of fun!! After a much needed massage, I picked up Jarrett from work and we set sail for the 'burg. After an uneventful drive, we arrived to Kingsmill greeted by an eight pound pomeranian, a happy mother, and a dining table set with a delicious Mexican spread. One delicious meal, two hours, and alot of laughter later, three sleepy people turned in for the night.

Saturday morning started at Starbucks where a caramel macchiato was calling my name. Good morning caffeine, how do you do?!! We lounged around the house for a few hours and then met up at my sister's house to see Kaitlyn and Austin. I adore my niece and nephew and love getting to see them every couple of months. We spent the afternoon playing on the river, soaking up sun and playing in the water. Andrea and Mike live in Seaford, a tight knit community on the water. Jarrett and I had never been on a boat together and truly enjoyed the afternoon.

We met my mom at the Kingsmill Marina for a seafood dinner overlooking the James River. The live beach music was the perfect touch to an already perfect setting.

No trip to Williamsburg would be complete without a trip to Colonial. Both the Cheese Shop and the Peanut Shop were calling our names and we dutifully obliged. We took a quick Sunday afternoon stroll down D.O.G. street and then bid farewell to our wonderful weekend.

Until next time!!
