A peak inside my gym bag

It's no secret that I love to work out! Today I thought I would share with you some of my favorite items of athletic apparel. I have built a solid collection over the years and have found that in the end, quality threads give you the most bang for your buck. I have also found that cute work-out clothes provide an extra incentive to hit the gym! Fortunately, cute meets comfort in these go-to choices:

Favorite brand overall- Lululemon. I am obsessed with this brand!! I got a new pair of hot yoga shorts for my birthday (thanks An!!) and have worn them 3 times in the past week!! Paired with a light weight sports bra, I feel completely unrestricted and "cool" in the 105 degree room. Anything and everything Lululemon is incredible for any athletic endeavor!

Favorite shoes- I truly believe in getting fitted for running shoes at a specialty running store. I wear the Mizuno Wave Rider which is perfect for my foot architecture. I am also a test runner for Brooks®. Andrea runs in Newtons which are quite intriguing!

Yoga essentials- I have practiced with my loyal purple Skiddless yoga mat for years!! This is a must-have for any fellow hot yogis :)

Favorite running tights- I run in Under Armour tights when the chilly weather hits. I just bought a new pair that I want to break in for the Richmond marathon.

Favorite running socks- I mostly run in the hidden Balegas but also like Thorlos.

Favorite watch- I love my Timex Ironman watch! I rely on the GPS function for long runs and the interval timer for sprint work and lifting.

Favorite running shorts- I divvy up my time between Under Armour and Nike.

Favorite running shirts- I usually run in race shirts, lift in some sort of cute technical shirt, and practice yoga in a sports bra.

Favorite work-out snacks- Whenever I need a yoga boost, I come prepared with coconut water. Long runs go smoother with gummy chews. After lifting, I make a delicious protein shake with Jay Robb protein powder (*sooooo yummy!!)

So there you have it!! What are your favorite items?
