Tonight's dinner is definitely worth sharing!! I had a craving for a big juicy burger and this version did not disappoint! Served up with half of a baked sweet potato and kale chips (don't hate- they are delish!) this meal truly hit the spot!!
To make the burgers I combined the following ingredients and gave them a little pulse in my Vitamix (any blender will do, or you can skip this step and just combine the ingredients):
1 tbs fennel
1 tbs minced garlic
1 tbs parsley
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 c bread crumbs (I used one hamburger bun to make mine)
1/2 c diced onions
1/2 c diced peppers
Pinch of crushed red pepper flakes
Salt and pepper to taste
Once these ingredients were combined, I added:
3 egg whites
1 lb lean ground beef (ground turkey or chicken can be substituted)
I formed 4 patties and broiled them to medium well. I topped them with some caramelized onions, shredded cheese, and my favorite BBQ sauce. OMG!! You have got to try this one!!
